Assistant to the Superintendent for Student Services

Taylor Charles joined the Tulpehocken School District in the spring of 2022 as the Director of Pupil Services and assumed the role of Assistant to the Superintendent for Student Services in June of 2024. Taylor has previously served as a seventh-grade learning support teacher, Alternative Education for Disruptive Youth Special Education Teacher, Special Education Coordinator, and Supervisor of Special Education in the Muhlenberg School District. 

Taylor earned his teaching credentials from Kutztown University, earning his special education certification and bachelor's degree in the science of education. Taylor then attended Slippery Rock University, obtaining his master of Special Education degree with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Returning to Slippery Rock, he earned his Supervisor of Special Education certification. 

When not serving the Tulpehocken community Taylor spends his time with his wife, Megan, and two daughters, Ava and Aria, along with their dogs, Cali and Mia.

Mrs. Caitlyn Brice

Mrs. Caitlyn Brice

Director of Special Education

Mrs. Caitlyn Brice has worked at Tulpehocken since 2016. At Tulpehocken, she has worked as an Autistic Support paraprofessional, Life Skills Support teacher, Behavioral Coach, Emotional Support teacher, lead teacher, and mentor. Her other teaching experience is at Hogan Learning Academy as a Special Education teacher. Her love for working in special education started when she was a peer volunteer in middle school and high school. She is currently enrolled at Ball State University for a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Emphasis in Autism. Outside of work, you will find her crafting or spending time with her husband, pets, family, and friends.

Mrs. Brice is committed to challenging and motivating students and staff to reach their full potential, to advocate for students that learn or communicate in a different way, to inspire growth through all areas of our students’ lives, and to celebrate all amounts of success.

About Keirstan: 

"I lived in the Tulpehocken School District my entire life and I am a 1993 graduate.  Most of my family has graduated from Tulpehocken as well.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement from Shippensburg University and a Master’s in Social Work from Marywood University.  I received my LSW in 2019.  I worked for Berks County for over 23 ½ years in Social Services.  I have 1 nephew, 5 fur nieces and nephews, and 4 dogs of my own(3 Scottish Terriers and 1 Golden Retriever) who are my babies.  I love to read, watch TV, and travel when I have the opportunity.  My favorite places to travel are Europe, historical locations, and Disney."
